Lake Clarke Shores is a quiet residential town built along canals off Lake Clarke, with mature tree canopy over most of it — and both the water and the trees shape what happens to a roof here.
OUR SERVICES
Canal frontage brings moisture and, closer to the Intracoastal, some salt. Heavy tree cover brings abrasion from limbs, debris in the valleys and shade that keeps the roof surface damp. Together they age a roof faster than its years alone would suggest.
Leaks from debris-clogged valleys, limb-damaged tile and shingle, failed pipe boots and flashing — with the underlying cause addressed.

FAQ's
Questions from Lake Clarke Shores homeowners about tree cover, canals and roof life.
Meaningfully. Limbs abrade the covering, falling debris clogs valleys and gutters so water backs up beneath it, and shade keeps the surface damp enough to encourage growth and rot. A heavily shaded roof commonly needs attention several years before the same roof in the open.
It depends which. Algae is largely cosmetic staining. Moss is not — it holds moisture against the covering and lifts shingle edges, which leads to genuine water intrusion. Both are treatable, and moss in particular is worth dealing with promptly.
Somewhat. There's more ambient moisture, and closer to the Intracoastal some salt reaches the hardware. It's a milder effect than true oceanfront exposure, but on waterfront homes we still recommend upgraded fasteners and flashing.
